Sharing love, warmth, and comfort with children in distress

Make a Blanket Day Sat, Feb 24, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm NHC Northeast Library, 1241 Military Cutoff Rd, 28405 Free, no pre-registration Quilters, knitters, crocheters, and crafters are invited to drop in during this 5-hour event and help make hand-made blankets for local children in need or crisis. All blankets and donated materials will go to the New Hanover/Brunswick/Pender chapter of Project Linus. What should you bring to Make a Blanket Day? Your willing hands and any of the following: sewing machines; quilts and afghans in progress; kid- and teen-friendly woven fabrics in cotton/cotton blend, flannel, and fleece; non-woolen yarn; quilt batting; spare sewing thread; quilting pins; sewing machine needles; and scissors. Materials must be new, unused, washable, and free of mold, mildew, and smoke. Project Linus cannot accept upholstery fabric, synthetic or knit fabrics, wool, or novelty yarns. Anime & Manga Club Northeast Library, Feb 20 At this free workshop teens will make cosplay accessories with cardboard, tape, and paint! Teen Anime and Manga Club is right after the workshop, for those who want to stay and continue working on their projects while watching streaming shows with fellow enthusiasts.

Teens can express themselves artistically in a judgment-free zone at this new monthly activity. February's theme is "Love Stinks, or Bad Art FTW! (For the win)"
