Build a Better WorldSummer Reading Time is Summer Learning Time, and NHC Children's Librarians have loaded up the calendar with opportunities to Read, Create, Build and Discover! Check the calendar frequently for updates, and please notice that many events have limited seats and require registration in advance to attend. Sign up June 9 - August 19 at the Children's Desk at your closest NHC Library! Kids will get a bag with a bookmark, reading log, stickers and prize coupons, while supplies last. That's right, we're not doing online sign-up this year. Take a tech break and just read!

Build a Better Library The goal is for Kid Summer Readers to read 25,000 books or hours, however you like to count it. This challenge is for ages 0 - 18 -- you can count the books or time spent reading aloud! The Friends of the Library will donate $2 for every 10 book or 10 hours of reading reported, up to a total of $5,000! Each library has a display where kids can add a paper brick to the new building for each 10 books or hours of reading they report to their librarian!
