Join our 2020 Weekly Reading Challenge! 
We challenge you to read 52 books in 2020 (averaging a book a week, but read at your own pace)! Download your tracking sheet online or pick one up at any branch. Plus, watch for quarterly meet-ups to meet other readers, stay motivated, and get new recommendations!

Want to explore new genres?
Join our "Read Outside Your Comfort Zone" Facebook group!
Monthly themed reading challenges that will encourage you to pick up books you wouldn't normally read, interact with fellow book lovers, and share reading recommendations for each theme.

Want to get your teen reading?
Sign them up for the 100 Books Before Graduation program!
For teens in grade nine or above. Pop into the library to grab a notebook (or use your own!). For every ten books read, teens will get a prize. If they complete the full 100 books before graduating, they'll receive the grand prize!

Want to build your child's early literacy skills?
Sign them up for the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!
Spend quality time with your littles and promote pre-literacy and learning by reading 1000 books before your child starts kindergarten.

Want to love where you live?
Take part in our Dear Red Deer Challenges!


Join us for a year of challenges to help fuel your love for Red Deer, based on the book This is Where You Belong: The Art and Science of Loving the Place You Live by Melody Warnick. Each month we'll read a chapter, complete a challenge, then meet up (in the library or on social media) to share our experiences. The first in-person meet-up will be on Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m.
