Fall Happenings at Your Library
Check out what we have going on this season

'Tis the season of learning, newly published fall books, multi-coloured leaves and Hallowe'en fun! We have something for people of all ages and inclinations, including themed author talks, interactive events and our ever-popular Fall Book Sale (one day only, in a new location).

We welcome your ideas about potential events and programs the library could offer in 2024.

Summer Reading Club 2023

In July & August, Summer Reading Club participants took a Journey through Time with a fun-filled, drop-in program for three different age groups. Total registration was 131 children — up considerably over last year’s 84 — with up to 45 kids in the library at a time!

Looking for something to read?  Check these out.

Snow Road Station
by Elizabeth Hay

In the winter of 2008, an actor in a Beckett play blanks on her lines. Fleeing the theatre, she beats a retreat into her past and arrives at Snow Road Station, a barely discernible dot on the map of Ontario. Looming in the background is the global financial meltdown, while in the foreground family and friends animate a round of weddings, sap harvests, love affairs, and personal turmoil.
The Bee Sting
by Paul Murray

Using alternating points of view, The Bee Sting chronicles the life of an Irish family: Dickie's business is dying in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis; Imelda struggles with money and more; high schooler Cass is drinking; and 12-year-old PJ is bullied and lonely. A great read for fans of tragicomic family sagas.
Evil Eye
by Etaf Rum

A Palestinian-American woman who grew up in a troubled Brooklyn family agreed to an arranged marriage. Now she lives in suburban North Carolina, teaching college art and raising two daughters. She's restless, sure, but is she cursed like her mother says? Read-alikes: Zaina Arafat's You Exist Too Much; Monica Ali's Love Marriage.
