Music in the Park Los Gatos Music in the Park is one of the premier summer events hosted by the Town of Los Gatos. Since 1988, Music in the Park (MIP) has been a free public summer concert series held on Sunday afternoons, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on the Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn. We are excited to continue to provide the opportunity for our community to enjoy a fun mix of musical genres in a family friendly atmosphere. Library Staff will be at MIP on Sunday, July 7th with Summer Reading information and a family craft.

Introduction to Bookbinding Saturday July 13 at 2 PM Technology Lab Artist Nina Eve Zeininger will teach us four different techniques for bookbinding, and you will walk away with 4 unique books to fill with journal entries or artwork. LGL Studio: Modern Calligraphy Tuesday July 16 at 6 PM Technology Lab Jina Jung, self-taught modern calligrapher, will teach us fun and useful techniques for writing your favorite quotes in beautiful handwriting in the modern calligraphy style. Author/Scientist Talk: A Seal Named Patches Saturday July 20 at 2 PM Kids Room Post-doctoral researchers Roxanne Beltran and Patrick Robinson have explored and studied seals and how they live and thrive in our world. They will be here to tell us about what is described in their children's book, A Seal Named Patches, a story about the lives of seals in Antarctica, the researchers who study them, and the message of how to care for the animals who inhabit our oceans.

One-Stroke Acrylic Painting Workshop Tuesday July 23 at 6 PM Technology Lab Local artist Tina Liddie will lead this fun painting class at the Library in which we will create fun and beautiful paintings with a special technique. Adoption and Foster Care Information Session Wednesday July 24 at 6 PM Each year more than 1500 children in the Santa Clara County are placed in supervised foster care placement. The Department of Family and Children's Services of Santa Clara County finds these children caring adoptive homes. Come hear and be informed about adoption and foster care and how you and your family can get involved.
