Come out and enjoy this annual Los Gatos event. Library staff will be rolling down the road as part of the annual parade with our Chartreuse Caboose decked out to celebrate in the festivities.
Our previous events have been fun and productive:
Red Ribbon Week @
Chris and Dolly took to the Chartreuse Caboose to Whole Foods for the annual Red Ribbon Week event and talked to 127 children, 24 teens and 99 adults! They had tons of fun showcasing the bike and everyone was excited about the spin wheel to win prizes. (The “la-la-la lollipops” was a crowd favorite to win.) There was a huge line of people waiting (in the rain!), to see what the Los Gatos Library had in store. :) Whole Foods loved us and they invited us to join them in their taco and BBQ events in the Spring and Summer.
See us in action by checking out our new promotional video on our Facebook page. Don't forget to "friend" us.

Family and Children’s Programs are happening each week:

Furry Friends Reading Buddies – Therapy dogs are in the library every 4th Thursday of the month starting at 4PM (Ages 4+)
As a reminder to all of our parents out there: your child’s library card provides access to all the many wonders of the library. We encourage you to take an active role in helping your child choose materials that are just right for your family. Here are some tips on how to do that:
1. Come in and talk to one of our librarians on the Children’s Information desk. With information such as your child’s age, interest, reading abilities and your comfort level with content, we can provide suggestions for your child.
NextReads provides many lists including those for children, tweens and teens, with descriptions and reviews.
For Our Teens:

Staff Picks--Christopher Ota
Author: Ann Patchett
Format: Downloadable Audiobook
A realistic family drama spanning the lives of the children of two families brought together by an infidelity. The personalities of the siblings are richly developed and easy with whom to empathize, as you’ll see yourself and your own family members within the book’s characters. This is the first Ann Patchett book I’ve experienced and I am hooked on her maturity of storytelling. I will read her famous Bel Canto next.
I listened to the audiobook version, read splendidly by actor Hope Davis. It was available on the Cloud Library as an E-audiobook, which I downloaded to my phone and synced to my car audio system for a pleasurable commute to work! Highly recommended!
