Every Hero Has a Story: Summer Reading Program 2015
Welcome to Summer at the Southwest Georgia Regional Library System! The temperatures are climbing outside, and what better way to cool off than visiting your library and participating in the Summer Reading Program. The Summer Reading Program themes for 2015 are "Every Hero Has a Story" (children) and "Unmask" (teens). Enjoy heroic tales, amazing animals, and more this summer through stories, games, character visits, magic tricks, and much more at the Southwest Georgia Regional Library System. Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins Monday, May 18, 2015 at all library locations. Participants will receive a reading log to keep track of the books they have read. Children must read 25 books to complete a Reading Log. Chapter books will be considered as more than 1 book; one book equals 25 pages in a chapter book. Teens must read 19 books in order to complete a reading log. Each completed reading log is worth 1 chance to win a prize pack at the end of the summer. All completed reading logs are due on or before Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Children who read over 100 books this summer will have their picture taken for the local newspaper on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Pictures will be taken at the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library at 10 a.m., at the Seminole County Public Library at 1 p.m., and at the Miller County-James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library at 3:30 p.m. There will be several fun programs at the library this summer. Read more to learn about all the fun we will have this summer. Be sure to visit your Southwest Georgia Regional Library System and be a part of a great Summer Reading Program!
