Toddler Time @ Your Library

Each library has a weekly Toddler Time scheduled. Toddler Time is a great way for young children to socialize, learn their ABC's and 1,2,3's, hear music, dance and wiggle, enjoy occasional special guests and hear books read to them. Check the schedule below to find out when the next Toddler Time is scheduled at your library!

What the Program is All About
|
|
We want children to become life-long learners! We want them to feel comfortable in the library and around books. Children who are reading naturally do well in school and always have something to do in "down time". So each year librarians across the country create themes and fun programs to promote summer reading. This year it's a science theme with "Fizz, Boom, Read".
How the program works in the Southwest Georgia Regional System: 1) Sign up and get your reading log. Start logging in the books or the time you read. 15 minutes equals one book. Chapter book readers count every 25 pages as one book. 2) Beginning June 2nd show your 1st completed log (25 books or equivalent) to receive your certificate, prize, coupons, and have your Mom or Dad take a picture of you with the Mad Scientist wig and lab coat on! Get your name up on a bubble to start moving it along the super scientist path. 25 books or 6 hours 15 minutes equals a completed log. 3) Earn another prize and get more stamps on your certificate for each 25 books or equivalent you read. Keep moving your bubble along the path to super scientist madness! 100 books or timed logs totaling 25 hours will get you to super scientist Status! 4) Children who log at least 100 books or the equivalent get your picture taken with the other "Super Scientists" for the newspaper and Facebook page at your library on July 17th at 4 p.m. All logs are due by 3 p.m July 17th. For more information call 229 248-2665 #114.
