Summer Reading Program 2015

Summer is approaching fast, and it is almost time for the library’s annual Summer Reading Program. This year’s themes are “Every Hero Has a Story” (Children) and “Unmask” (Teens). Children must read 25 books to complete a reading log; teens must read 19 books to complete a reading log. Each completed reading log will be entered into a drawing to win a prize pack. Registration begins Monday, May 18, 2015 at every library location. Visit any Southwest Georgia Regional Library System location beginning Monday, May 18, 2015 to register your child for the Summer Reading Program. This year's Summer Reading Program ends June 30, 2015. All reading log will be due at the library by June 30, 2015. Join us on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Seminole County Public Library for the Summer Reading Program kick-off event! Learn about the heroes of the wild at this exciting program. Meet live, exotic wildlife from all over the world that possess unique abilities. Be prepared to get up close an learn about these very extraordinary animals! Book Clubs @ Your Library

There are two book clubs to attend in our area! The First Tuesday Book Club meets in the Miller County - James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library at 10 a.m. the first Tuesday of the month. The First Wednesday Book Club meets at the Seminole County Public Library at 10 a.m. each month. Joining is simple! Read the book - which is always available from the library - and come to the club to discuss your reactions to it! Both clubs are free to join and open to the public. For May, the First Tuesday Book Club is reading Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce. The First Wednesday Book Club is discussing All the Light You Cannot See by Anthony Doerr in May.
