It's that time again! Our 2016 Summer Reading Program will be kicking off at the end of May, and we are excited to bring you another year of fantastic performers. On Your Mark, Get Set... Read! is this year's theme, and we'll be focusing on sports, games, and healthy eating. Registration will begin on Monday, May 23, 2016. Reading logs will be handed out at the time of registration, and for every 25 books, children can trade them in for a clean page! Prizes will be given out for participating. The last day to turn in reading logs will be July 1, 2016. Visit your library for a complete brochure on our summer schedule! We will be bringing you more program details in our Summer Reading Newsletter!

Book Clubs @ Your Library

The First Tuesday Book Club at the Miller County - James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library will meet on May 3 at 10 a.m. and will be discussing An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff. This will be the last book club meeting before Summer, and will start again in the Fall. The First Wednesday Book Club will meet at the Seminole County Public Library on May 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. Book club members will be discussing The Light Between the Oceans by M.L. Steadman. The book for June is The Emperor's Children by Claire Messud. The book for July is The Time In Between by Marie Duenos. To join the First Wednesday Book Club, contact the library at 229-524-2665.

The Decatur County - Gilbert H. Gragg Library will be making changes to it's May schedule for children's programs as we prepare for Summer Reading. Toddler Time: Tuesday, May 3 will be the last Tuesday Toddler Time. Thursday's Toddler Time will continue until May 12, and will then take a break. There will be Toddler Time scheduled during Summer Reading on the following days: Thursday, May 9 @ 10 am Thursday, May 23 @ 10 am Legos & Games: Legos & Games will be taking a break through the month of May, but will return during Summer Reading on the following days: Thursday, May 2 @ 10 am Thursday, May 16 @ 10 am Thursday, May 30 @ 10 am
