Lego Club Monday, April 1st at 10:30am Join other Lego fans on Monday, April 1st from 10:30-11:30am and build your own unique creations. We will provide the Lego bricks, along with a theme. Kids ages 5-12 are welcome to attend this program! This program is designed to encourage imaginative play and teamwork while contributing to a foundation for early mathematical concepts.

Tuesday, April 2nd at 10am 12-15 year old students are welcome to join us on Tuesday, April 2nd from 10:00am - 4:00pm for one-day Tinkercad Camp! Tinkercad is a kid-friendly and web-based application used for 3D modeling. Tinkercad Camp is a new program that introduces students to Tinkercad and the exciting world of 3D modeling. The goals of this one-day program are to teach students how to conceptualize 3D designs, utilize the functions of 3D modeling tools, create 3D models, and understand the process of 3D printing. Prior experience is recommended, but not necessary, Tinkercad Camp will be an excellent opportunity for students to learn about 3D modeling. A small lunch and snacks will be provided. If there are dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly. Registration is required for this program, and attendees must be able to stay for the entire program. All materials and tools will be provided. If there are fewer than 5 people registered for this program, it will be cancelled.

Read to the Dogs 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 4pm L.E.A.P. (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) Program – Read to the Dogs - is free and open to children of all ages. Come in to practice your reading and have a tail-waggin’ good time! L.E.A.P. sessions will be held at the Greenwood Library on the first and third Thursdays of the month. No registration is required; just come to the Greenwood Library any time between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., choose a 4-legged, tail-wagging reading partner, and enjoy a good book together. Books are provided. This program is designed to foster a love of reading, promote the habit of reading, supplement formal education and improve social, motor and listening skills amongst our youngest patrons.

Monday, April 8th at 2pm Calling all curious minds at the Greenwood Public Library on Monday, April 8th at 2:00pm for our Solar Eclipse STEM Lab! Bring a cereal or snack box to make your own solar eclipse viewer. All who attend will also be receiving solar eclipse glasses for the April 8th solar eclipse. Emergency Preparedness: Taking Priority Steps to Increase Readiness and Resilience Tuesday, April 16th at 5:30pm (Part 1) What’s involved in preparing for emergencies and disasters? And why should I do anything to prepare? Join us at the Greenwood Library on Tuesday, April 16 @5:30 where these questions and more will be discussed during this interactive presentation. Participants will learn about the importance of personal risk analysis, the important differences between preparing to shelter in place vs. evacuating and resources and information to assemble a personal “go-bag” and a personal kit for sheltering in place. All participants will receive a go-bag that they can fill at home. This program is designed to increase Sussex County residents' understanding of management of emergencies and disasters and to promote readiness and foster a confidence in Sussex County residents.

Bookworm Buddies Monday, April 22nd at 4pm Get together to read, talk about books, and do fun activities that go along with them on Monday, April 22nd from 4:00-5:00pm. This we are joining Longwood Garden’s community read and will be reading 'The Secret Garden' based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and adapted by Calista Brill. The suggested age range is 5-7 and is perfect for kids who enjoy 'older' picture books whether or not they can read yet. This program provides an opportunity for young readers to develop literacy, critical thinking, and foster social interaction.

Emergency Preparedness: Communication is Key in Preparing for Emergencies and Disasters Tuesday, April 23rd at 5:30pm (Part 2) Where do you turn for information when emergencies and disasters are near? Who do you communicate with before, during and after those events? Join us on Tuesday, April 23 @ 5:30 at Greenwood Public Library for reliable information which is critically important when personal safety is at risk. This presentation will introduce participants to Smart911 and the Delaware Emergency Notification System (DENS) – both vital resources to stay informed.
