THE BOOKCASE    ||    AUGUST 2020
 AGAWAM PUBLIC LIBRARY

Thank You to Our Community

The Agawam Library re-opened its doors to the public with limited services on July 13th. Since then, we are pleased to say that we have have welcomed back over 1000 patrons. In June, we circulated 2,763 items via our curbside pick-up service. During that time, we quickly learned how to shift our focus to provide our patrons with the things they missed most during the Stay-at-Home Order-BOOKS! Now that we are open by appointment and our patrons are coming through our doors, our numbers are growing with almost 8,000 items being checked out in the month of July.

We are incredibly grateful to be providing services to our community once again. From the familiar faces checking out the bestsellers, to the children coming in to stock up on books for summer reading, to our regular computer users; it is good to see you all. We look forward to moving ahead in the safest way we can to maintain these important services. The safety of our staff and our patrons continues to be our biggest priority. We thank you all for your support over the past several months.

Summer Reading Challenge Continues

There's still time to participate in the Adult Summer Reading Challenge! We have had a great response to our new online summer reading program. Beanstack is easy to use and participants are enjoying our virtual programs too. Visit our website for information about how to register and play along. The challenges are easy and for each challenge completed, patrons are entered into a raffle. The winning continues until Friday, August 14th. Twenty lucky players will win $25 gift cards to a local business. Follow the link for more information about this year's program. www.agawamlibrary.org/adults
