We've Missed You!

The library is pleased to be reopening its doors to the greater Agawam community.

Beginning Monday, July 13th, the library will be available to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
We will remain closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but curbside services will be available.

Patrons will be asked to call the library to make an appointment to browse the collections or use the computers.

The Agawam Library takes the health and well-being of its staff and our library community very seriously. As our patrons return, we want you to know that we are following the guidelines from the CDC, the State of Massachusetts and our local health officials. Everyone's safety is our top priority.

New Procedures
How Long Can I Stay?

On Mondays, Wednesday and Friday, you can make an make an appointment to browse the collections or use a computer for 45 minutes. Your appointment ends promptly, so that we can properly clean high-use areas in between visits. You can schedule your next 45 minute visit while you are here!
Do I Have to Wear a Mask?

YES! Please use a face covering at all times during your library visit.  We have masks available at the main entrance. If you cannot wear a mask, we are happy to set up a curbside pickup or offer convenient home delivery. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the library for use after touching public equipment, materials, doors, and desks. We recommend frequent hand-washing and sanitizing. We have placed social distancing signage around the library and on the floors. Please observe the recommended 6 feet distancing measures for everyone's safety.

Where Do I Leave My Returns?

For the duration of the COVID pandemic, please leave your returns in the exterior book drops at the library's main entrance. All items coming back into the library must be quarantined for 72 hours. Don't worry too much about the items getting off your record on or before the due date. All overdue fees are being waived during this time. *This does not include fees for lost or damaged items.

When browsing in the library, we recommend browsing with your eyes as much as possible. If you handle an item for more than 5 minutes and decide not to borrow, please place the item on the nearest return cart in the area.

Books! DVD's! Magazines!

We are catching up on ordering the material that was published during the stay-at-home order. In addition, please be patient when ordering materials from other C/W Mars libraries. There is a 3-month backlog of deliveries and holds are moving slowly at this time. Not all libraries are open and fulfilling requests.

All of our magazines can be checked out! Yes, even the current copies! Magazines will not be available for browsing, but feel free to check them out! Please note that while our daily newspapers are available to read, they will not be cleaned between each use.
