STRIPERS! This fish will get the blood boiling. The lake record for this transplanted salt water giant in Lake Lanier is 47 pounds. Stripers ranging from 10 to 20 pounds can be caught year round. CRAPPIE FISHING ON LAKE LANIER

Lake Sidney Lanier has some of the best Crappie fishing in the country. This is a very popular species that are easy to find, easy to catch and very good to eat. Anglers target shallow waters in the spring as the population goes through spawning, but veteran angler Ken Sturdivant will show you how this species can be caught on deep water structure throughout the year. USING SONAR EQUIPMENT FOR FISHING

Scanning sonar is now the big thing in fishing. With new Side and Down Scan imaging, anglers can search to depths of 300 feet and to the sides of the water column 300 feet each way. Now anglers can see the fish, count the fish, and know what and where they are with this technology. Veteran angler Ken Sturdivant will show you how to use this technology to go “catching” instead of fishing.
