Saturday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m. Post Road Library Tulsi Singh (M.S, Relationship & Transition Coach, ELI-MP, Certified-Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, Sound Therapist) of the Anubhuti Center will lead a workshop on Reiki Healing and Sound Meditation Therapy as methods for alternative healing. Reiki is a laying-on of hand healing technique thousands of years old thought to have originated as a Tibetan Buddhist practice. Reiki means life energy which creates and sustains life. Sound therapy, also known as music therapy or sound healing, is an automatic process of deep inner healing set in motion through the right combinations of sounds that resonate within and fill the space around us. The workshop will include a Reiki demonstration as well as a mini-session of Sound Meditation. This program is for adults only, and no registration is required.

Monday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. Hampton Park Library Crystal Merrell of crystal dawn herbs, LLC will talk about the traditional practice of herbalism as a method for alternative healing, giving examples of commonly used plants, their medicinal properties, and their potential uses in teas, tinctures, and salves. Participants will also make and taste various types of herbal teas and get a sample to take home. This program is for adults only; no registration is required.

Tuesday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. Sharon Forks Library Essential oils are a mild and fragrant method for promoting health and wellness naturally, from aromatherapy to topical application. Clinical Herbalist and Aromatherapist Kelly Clonts will give an introduction to the many benefits and uses of essential oils with a focus on respiratory and seasonal support. She will also discuss general safety guidelines for their proper use and formulations. Participants will get to sample common essential oils and will receive a complimentary aromatherapy guide to take home. This program is for adults only; no registration is required.
