Due to construction that will disconnect power to street lights in the parking lot, the Sharon Forks Library will begin closing one hour earlier than usual Monday through Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m., from Monday, September 11 through Thursday, September 28.
As construction begins on the second phase of the expansion and renovation project, the branch will be closed Monday, October 2 through Sunday, October 29.
No Access to Holds or Book Returns October 2 - 29
While the branch is closed patrons will not be able to access any portion of the library grounds or parking lot, including the book return.
Requests for holds on books and materials will also be suspended on Monday, September 11 and all existing holds should be picked up before the branch closes.
Movers will transport furnishings, shelving, and computers from the existing building to the new expansion section or to off-site storage. Then library staff will relocate more than 100,000 books and materials and make sure the shelves are properly labeled.
Construction crews will also complete a reconfiguration of the parking lot, adding a traffic circle and widening the entrance at Old Atlanta Road to include a right-turn lane.
We appreciate your patience during construction and invite you to visit other FCPL branches to check out books and materials or participate in programs. For more information and updates on the progress of construction, please visit www.forsythpl.org/sharonforks.
