Library Seeks VolunTEENS for Summer
The library is looking for exceptional teen volunteers to help with our Summer Reading Program. You’ll stay busy and you’ll get great volunteer experience, too. Open to students entering 9th-12th grade who can commit to volunteering at least four weeks out of the summer. Volunteering provides you with several benefits. All VolunTEENS will earn volunteer hours, which can be used as community service credit for school. Volunteer hours also look great on college applications as well as on applications for jobs. You’ll gain valuable work experience and you’ll make professional contacts that may be useful for references in the future. Lastly, you’ll have fun! Visit here for important information about VolunTEEN recruitment, duties, and important deadlines and to access the VolunTEEN application. All applications must be submitted by Sunday, April 9 to be considered. Note: VolunTEEN openings are at the Cumming, Hampton Park, and Post Road branches. There are no openings at the Sharon Forks Library.

FCPL Expands Access to The New York Times Online
In November 2014 the library acquired access to The New York Times Online, which has given patrons inside our library branches access to a wide variety of New York Times content, including not only the daily newspaper but also interactive videos, photos, archives, and Times Topics. We are excited to announce that starting March 1, library cardholders now have access to The New York Times Online from any location. Enjoy The New York Times Online from your home, at work, or on the go! When patrons click on The New York Times Online link on the FCPL website or in the library catalog, you will now be directed to a landing page that explains how to access The New York Times Online. Patrons inside the library will just click a link for direct access. Patrons using a computer or mobile device outside the library will click a different link and will then enter a library card number and PIN to be given an access code that will allow 72 hours of unlimited remote access. At the end of that period patrons are welcome to repeat the process. We are so excited to offer this expanded service. Please let us know if you have any questions. We're happy to help!
