Sharon Forks Library Closing May 4 and 5

The Sharon Forks Library will be closed on Thursday, May 4 and Friday, May 5 as construction crews connect storm water piping and sewer drainage lines. While this work is in progress, the library and book drop will be closed and the entrance will be blocked at Old Atlanta Road. Materials checked out at Sharon Forks will not be due on these two days. Please contact us if you notice errors on your account so that we can resolve them. The Cumming, Hampton Park, and Post Road library branches will be open and we invite patrons to visit any of these locations to use our computers, study rooms, or check out materials and participate in programs for children and adults. Thank you for your patience while we expand and enhance the Sharon Forks Library. We look forward to seeing you there when we re-open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. |
It's the story of your life...but how do you even begin to write it? Learn how to write a memoir at the first Forsyth Writes Together workshop of the year, presented at the Cumming Library on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. This free 90-minute seminar will feature a panel of four local authors with published memoirs or novels woven from family stories. The workshop is for adults only and registration is not required. After short presentations, the authors will engage in a Q&A session with the audience to address specific memoir-writing topics and offer guidance on self-publishing or finding a publisher. The authors will also stay to sign copies of their books. Featured authors include G. Ross Kelly, Charlotte Gober Czekala, Charles A. Pitcher, and Syed Riaz Ahmed. TumbleBookLibrary Launches New App
Designed for grades K - 4, the TumbleBookLibrary collection includes animated read-along eBooks with highlighted text and professional narration that makes following along easier for young readers. TumbleBooks has now made it much easier for you to access the library's collection on your tablet or smart phone. The apps are available for both Apple iOS and Android devices, and can be found on their respective stores by either searching for TumbleBooks or clicking on the links below: In the app, log in by selecting the country, state, and library system. Then enter your library card number. Once you've logged in for the first time, each subsequent login will only require a click of the TumbleBooks icon. While you're using the app, your experience on the site is the exact same experience you'd have if you logged in using your browser. You just need an internet connection to stream content, and there are no downloads to clog up your device.
