This month, Athens-Clarke County Library is proud to host three donation drives with local partners: Stuffed Animal Drive Through Sunday, December 9 Bring new or gently loved stuffed animals to the library to donate to Plushy UGA, a student organization dedicated to providing stuffed animals to emergency responders who can then give them to children for comfort during stressful situations. No hard dolls or figurines will be accepted; stuffed animals must be appropriate for children (nothing scary!). Small tears will be mended. Toys for Tots Through Saturday, December 15 The Library is a drop-off site for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive. New, unwrapped toys can be donated at the donation bin located near the self check kiosks on the first floor. Stuff-a-Bus with Athens-Clarke County Transit Tuesday, December 11 & Wednesday, December 12 Help Athens-Clarke County Transit collect canned and nonperishable foods for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia! A brightly decorated bus will be parked at the library to accept your donations! Each visit earns a chance to win a “Stuff-a-Bus” door prize, which will be drawn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 14. You don’t need to be present to win. Most needed items include peanut butter, soups, chili, beef stew, canned fruits and vegetables, canned pasta, canned chicken and tuna, cereal, rice, dried pasta, pasta sauce, and dried or canned beans. For more information, call 706.613.3432, ext. 232.
