CLAMS App Funny thing, three people in one day asked the circulation staff at the main library about the CLAMS app. on their phones. They didn't realize that the old one stopped working on May 1 because it was replaced by a better version.

Karen Rinaldo Prints on Loan to Main Library Library director, Linda Collins (at left in the picture) is very pleased to receive on loan two prints from Falmouth visual historian/artist, Karen Rinaldo (at right in the picture.) They stand next to the Heritage Map of Woods Hole and Quissett that Karen created in 2017 for the Falmouth Preservation Alliance. It is hanging outside the young adult room, opposite Karen's 2015 Heritage Map of Falmouth Village, which we have had on display for several years. Linda Collins loves the fact we can display these wonderful maps near the atlas stand where Falmouth residents and visitors can enjoy them. Karen also loaned the library a print of her oil painting, The First Thanksgiving, 1621. The 5' x 3' painting is a detailed, fact-based interpretation of the event. The print, smaller in size, but still large, is accompanied by a chart identifying participants. Now, to decide upon the best place to hang the pair so you can get up close for an inspection! Stay tuned.

Falmouth Zoning Bylaws Recodification & Environmental Notification Form re: WHOI CWater Project Available for Viewing The reference department at the main library is the place to go if you want to review the newly re-organized town zoning bylaws document and the Environmental Notification Form for the CWater project at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). The Town of Falmouth Planning Board is submitting a revised final draft document of the Zoning Bylaws, Chapter 240. "...the document contains extensive corrections by deletions, additions, edits, format revisions and other necessary corrections. Great effort was made to avoid changing the substance of the zoning bylaw." The goals were to not change the bylaws, but to reformat them logically, correct grammar, etc and replace outdated references to State Statutes and Court decisions. The Environmental Notification Form details the planned Complex for Waterfront Access to Exploration and Research (CWATER) at WHOI's Woods Hole campus, specifically, "the replacement of the existing Iselin Marine Facility." If you wish to review these documents, ask for them at the reference desk.
