Family Story Time Thursdays Main Library, Library Lawn Join Ms. Laura on Thursdays from 10:00 to 10:30 am for Family Story Time on the library front lawn for read-alouds, songs and movement! Designed for children ages 4-7 and their families, all ages welcome! Get a Take and Make craft to go home with. All activities and performances take place OUTSIDE (weather permitting) on the library lawn.

STEAM Gems Wednesdays Main Library, Youth Services Room East & North Falmouth Branches Starting Wednesday, June 30th, come take home a Foam Door Hanger Take and Make Craft! Use the provided stickers and foam shapes to decorate a foam door hanger in this Take and Make Craft. Kits are available for pick up while supplies last. These craft kits are geared for ages 5+ but younger patrons may enjoy doing them with adult help. This program is funded by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library. Summer Reading Kicks Off! Join us on Tuesday, June 29th from 2pm to 4pm on the library lawn for a fun summer reading kickoff event! Learn about and sign up for our summer reading program through Beanstack. The first 100 sign ups get a Summer Badge Book! Enjoy popsicles from our book bike and sidewalk chalk and bubbles will be passed out while supplies last! Also join Ms. Lillian a Certified Zumba Kids Instructor at 3:30 pm for 30 minutes of family fitness fun! This is made possible by the Coordinated Family Community Engagement Grant and the Coalition for Children.

Book Bike The Falmouth Public Library Book Bike will be at the Falmouth ArtMarket every Thursday morning starting July 1st from 11am to 12pm (weather permitting). The ArtMarket is held at the Falmouth Harbor Band Shell on Scranton Road. All members of the community are invited to stop by. You can sign up for a library card, pick up free books and dvds, and meet FPL staff. StoryWalk Tuesdays, Main Library, Library Lawn Enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time! Join us on every Tuesday starting July 6th from 10am-12pm for a StoryWalk on the library's lawn! A StoryWalk is a fun family activity that places a children's story (literally a book taken apart) along a walking trail. As you stroll, you and your child are directed to the next page in the story. Geared toward toddler - preschool age, but all are welcome! Take home activity pack will be available while supplies last. Sponsored and Facilitated by the Coalition for Children.

Youth Theater Workshop Join Victoria Santos July 12th through the 16th from 1pm to 4pm for a fun filled acting workshop! Create and perform your own skit, learn acting skills, theater terms and play theater and improv games! In Stitches - Pet Bow Ties! The library is excited to be offering three different hand sewing projects this summer – one for each month. Next Big Library Read We are excited to announce The Quiet Girl is the next Big Library Read! From June 28th through July 12th, The Quiet Girl will be available on OverDrive and Libby from the entire community to read at once! "After a tense argument, Alex drops everything to patch things up with his new wife, Mina. But Mina has vanished, leaving behind her wedding band and a string of secrets in her wake. Meanwhile, Layla is a mystery in Provincetown. When coworkers start asking questions about who she is and where she came from, Layla would love to answer them...but she can't. All she knows is someone has hurt her and now she has to disappear. As Alex searches for Mina, and Layla searches for herself, their stories collide and Alex realizes Mina's disappearance is hidden in Layla's past. In a shocking twist, they must decide how far they're willing to go in search of healing-and perhaps revenge."

Live Music on the Lawn with Matt York! Join us on Tuesday, June 29th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm for a live, outdoor concert on the library lawn with musician and recording artist Matt York! This is a free event and no registration is needed. Just bring your own chair or blanket and come join us for a lovely evening of music! This outdoor concert, courtesy of the Trustees of the Falmouth Public Library, is an acoustical performance. Matt will be telling stories and playing songs by the great band “The Highwaymen, which consisted of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings, and answering questions at the end. Rare Book Specialist & Brattle Book Shop Owner Ken Gloss We are delighted to welcome Ken Gloss, rare book specialist and owner of the internationally known Brattle Book Shop in Boston’s Downtown Crossing area for a Zoom presentation on July 6th at 6:30pm! Ken will describe and exhibit some of his favorite finds and relate some of the joys of the "hunt," as well as explain what makes a book go up in value. He will also discuss the value of old and rare books, and even do an appraisal or two as time permits! Falmouth Community Memorial There will be a Falmouth Community Memorial, an Interfaith Memorial Service, for those lost to COVID-19 on June 27th at 6pm on the front lawn of the Falmouth Public Library. If you have lost loved ones to COVID-19, please submit their names to be read at the service by emailing waquoitchurch@gmail.com. They do not need to have been a Falmouth Resident.
