Armistice Day Reads

November 11, 1918 at 1100 AM Paris time, an eerie silence overcame the battlefields of the Western Front. For the first time in four years, the guns fell silent and peace was once again restored. The battlefields which had taken such a toll of young men's lives - generations of them - were silenced by the Armistice. Beginning in 1954, November 11th was declared Veterans Day to honor veterans of all US wars and conflicts.
