Family Pumpkin Painting Party
Saturday, October 24 starting at 12:00 PM, in the Library parking lot
Enjoy some music to get you in the fall spirit while you paint pumpkins at socially-distanced tables (supplies provided). Then don your masks and come inside to collect treats from each of our service desks!
Registration is required -- tables are limited. To register, call us at (631) 286-0818, or come to the Reference Desk.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Masks are required when inside the building and when social distance cannot be maintained. In the event of rain or worsening of the pandemic, this event will be cancelled.
Our Fall Food Drive Continues

Please donate your gently-used cell phones (including batteries) to the box across from the Patron Services desk. Please factory reset your phones and remove SIM cards before donating. Ends Oct. 31.

Outdoor Qigong at the Post Morrow Foundation

Join us at Post Morrow for in-person Qigong! This ancient, evidence-based Chinese healing art consists of low-impact exercises which help to lower blood pressure, increase bone density, and improve balance. Instructor Tom Linden is certified by the Center for Taiji Studies.

Peconic Bay Scallops: Yesterday and Today Thursday, October 22, 7:00 PM
Local historian Erin Becker presents a history of the Peconic Bay scallop industry, explaining the place of the scallop in New York City/Long Island cultural heritage and cuisine. Last year, the scallop crop suffered a catastrophic failure and the season opened in November to find that 90% of the scallops had died.
