Massachusetts Workers Emergency Relief Funds Massachusetts Jobs with Justice, a coalition of community, faith, and labor groups, has compiled an extensive list of emergency relief funds available to workers in a wide variety of different industries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The list is also available in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Bengali, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese and French.

Emergency Assistance Family Shelter If you have children under age 21, or you are pregnant, and you have no place to stay, you may be eligible for emergency assistance family shelter. To apply, call the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) at 866-584-0653. It is best to call on a weekday, before 5:00p.m. Calls made after 5:00p.m. during the week or on the weekends may have a delayed response. All offices are closed at this time, so you cannot apply in person. If DHCD says your family is not eligible for the EA shelter program, or that you cannot be placed right away, and you don’t have a place to stay, contact the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless at 781-595-7570 ext. 36 for referral to an agency near you.

Kindness 101 with Steve Hartman CBS' Steve Hartman (known for his "On the Road" segment) is leading a virtual class for kids called "Kindness 101" focusing on topics like altruism, courage and empathy. In a recent WBUR article, Steve said the class was motivated by his passion for sharing the importance of character with kids.
