Monday Ribbon CuttingsOn Monday, we held 2 ribbon cutting ceremonies (complete with giant scissors) with limited attendance to stay in accordance with MA COVID-19 guidelines on outdoor gatherings. Staff, Library Trustees, elected officials, and guests gathered to celebrate the new Tufts Library, as well as all the individuals that helped it come to fruition. Reference and Teen Librarian, Janet Gallagher, shared a staff perspective at the first ceremony (left). You can watch the second ribbon cutting as well as a building tour here courtesy of WETC.

Tuesday and Wednesday Open HousesOn Tuesday and Wednesday we welcomed the community for open houses. Patrons and visitors were so excited to tour the new library, and chat with library staff, and we were equally excited to host them! As always, safety is our top priority, so everyone was limited to 30 minutes in the building, wore masks, and practiced social distancing. Thursday Back to Business We opened back up for library services just shy of 2 years after we closed the old Tufts Library and moved to the branches. Patrons of all ages were thrilled to be able to browse for books to take home. Adults loved our new bookshelves with bright automatic lighting, teens peeked into their new study rooms and dove into our graphic novel collection, and our youngest patrons had a blast flipping through the picture books! It feels so good to be back!

Mimi, Ken, Elliot, Justin and their grownups paid a visit to the new Tufs Library on Friday. We caught up with them at the self-checkout machine. - Mimi loves the manga and anime section in the Teen Room and loves how shiny the new library is.
- Justin thinks it is awesome!
- Ken is amazed at how many books there are. It seems like way more than at the old library.
