Due to Covid-19, the library looks a bit different these days. The safety of our patrons, visitors, and staff is our top priority, so we've created some temporary policies to help keep everyone healthy. Here's what you can expect during your visit:
No one exhibiting symptoms will be allowed to enter the building.
One way traffic: Visitors will enter through the entrance by the park and exit onto Broad Street.
Welcome table with contact tracing: Upon entry, patrons are required to sign in at the welcome table for contact tracing purposes.
Face coverings required: Masks are required for all visitors over 2 years old.
Sanitize frequently: Hand sanitizer is available and patrons are encouraged to clean their hands often.
Social distance: Library patrons must follow all signs, floor markings, and verbal instructions from staff to maintain social distance.
Limited capacity: No more than 50 visitors at a time are allowed in the building.
Limited time: Visits will be no more than 30 minutes.
Limited space: The Quiet Reading Room, the Children's and Teens' Program Rooms, Digital Media Lab, Local History Room, Comfort Room, and all meeting and study rooms are closed until further notice. Most furniture has been removed.
No public PCs: Chromebooks are available to borrow from the Circulation Desk for 20 minutes per day with no extensions.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
No food or drink: The consumption of food and drink is prohibited throughout the building, even in places where it would normally be allowed, with the exception of water.
Contactless checkout: Self-checkout machines are available.
