Getting back safely... We've received a lot of inquires about when the library will restore in-person services. We want to restore services as quickly as possible, but also as safely as possible. Working alongside the Town Administrator, the Town's Board of Health, and with the guidance of the state and the state's library agencies, the library will establish a safe reopening schedule. This week, the Governor issued a four-stage reopening plan. Details of this plan and industry-specific guidance should be forthcoming next week. We look forward to seeing how libraries are addressed in these plans, and will follow the guidance as provided. You can also learn more about the town's response to COVID-19, as well as weekly updates from the Town Administrator and Selectboard, here. Please feel free to email Jessi Finnie, Library Director, with any questions or concerns.

Bright Spots, SEF’s campaign to recognize the good in our seaside town during an uncertain time, was born out of the idea that there are opportunities to celebrate life and connect with others every day. Local artists and businesses are designing art kits to hand out to families, featuring a variety of themes and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The library is contributing a fun reading list for every kit! Learn more about SEF and the Bright Spots Campaign!

The Scituate Historical Society is documentingtwhat life is like for Scituate residents during the Covid 19 pandemic. Please email, send or bring in (when we’re open again) your impressions, observations, experiences, frustrations, joys and so on. Any format is acceptable. SHS is hoping to preserve a snapshot of Scituate life during this historical period for future researchers.

The 3rd Annual Buoy Silent Auction is here & this year the library's own Sue D'Arcangelo will submit one on behalf of the library! All proceeds benefit future Scituate Harbor events. To get started, purchase a blank buoy from Native or Goodies II for $10 (cash of check to SHBA only). Return your decorated buoy to either location by June 15. The Silent Auction will be held at the Mill Wharf (date to be determined). Call or message Goodies II or Native on Facebook to arrange curbside pickup of your buoy.
