In 1873 the cable car was invented. By the 1920s, most United States municipalities had abandoned horse drawn cars for electrically powered ones. Concord had electric trollies like this one on North Main Street until 1933. You can learn more by checking out the Concord Room, CPL’s historical archive and special collections, anytime the library is open!
