It's officially fall! I for one am ready for the weather to get just a little chillier so I can break out the chai and pumpkin cake (just kidding — I've been making pumpkin cake since September 1st!).
I hope you are making sure to take stretch breaks, drink plenty of water, and gaze into the distance every once in a while.
Seriously, try staring into the distance for 15 seconds at the end of every Zoom class, just to give your eyes a break.
And if you want a little more relaxation, we've started a new one minute video series on our Instagram called Mindfulness Minute — they're one minute videos with pretty imagery, calm music, and a short exercise to help you unwind.
Sound a little woo-woo? Maybe, but also actually effective at getting grounded (something it seems like we could all use a little more of right now). Click on the image right there ————————————————————————>
Here's what else is happening at the library:
Last chance for September's craft kits! Swing by the Main Library on Thursday or Friday, 1-5pm to pick up an adventure themed Take-and-Make Craft kit. Kits to make your own paracord keychain are available while supplies last. You can find a video of the craft on our YouTube, and we've got a whole list of adventurous reads.
Tomorrow is Game Night!
Thursday, September 24, 6:30 p.m.
Are you a Sorry pro? A Pictionary wizard? A Monopoly master? Or maybe an Uno Virtuoso? Join us for virtual board games via Zoom. Email PCarryer@sanleandro.org to register.
Teen Advisory Group Applications are Open! Earn volunteer credit and contribute to building a library that better serves teens by becoming part of the Teen Advisory Group. We meet once a month to discuss upcoming programs and gather teen input. Open to teens in grades 8-12. Apply today!
Always feel free to hit reply to this email just to let us know how you're doing, what you're reading, or if there is something the library can be doing to help you learn and grow!
