Earn your Summer Reading badges through July 31 to Receive a Finisher Prize! It’s not to late to participate in the FREE Summer Reading Program! You can earn a different badge and an entry into the weekly raffle drawing by reading, participating in a Library program or completing a fun activity. Earn eight badges by July 31 to win a finisher prize pack and entries into the grand prize raffle. Plus, our Friends of the Library will donate $1 for every badge earned in the Summer Reading Program to local nonprofit Building Futures, up to $3,000 total. Please participate and earn badges so we can contribute the maximum amount!

Reading Colors Your World Grab & Go Kits Pick up a new Summer Reading activity kit from the Main Library every Saturday in July! - July 3: green week activity
- July 10: blue week activity
- July 17: purple week activity
- July 24: black week activity
- July 31: rainbow activity kits
Kits for ages 3-6 and 7-11 are offered while supplies last – stop by the Children’s Desk to get yours!

History Readers Book Club Thursday, July 8, 6:00 pm-7:00 pm Join San Leandro History Museum staff for a virtual book club for adults on the Second Thursday of the month. We welcome adult readers to join us to discuss historic fiction or your current reads of any genre, and to get/give some reading recommendations.

Virtual Embroidery Workshop for Adults Saturday, July 10, 10am-12pm This hands on workshop will teach you a variety of outlining stitches. Please email kmandalay@sanleandro.org to sign up and get a list of supplies needed for the class.

Summer Tech Club for Grades 4-6 Mondays, July 12, 19, 26, 3:30pm For kids entering grades 4-6, sign up for our July gaming club, which will build community and connection between kids as we reach our team goals together. Worried about technology over the summer? We have Chromebooks and Hotspots for youth available for check out!

Saturday, July 31, 1:30pm-2:30pm PST The San Leandro Public Library welcomes Harpsona for a virtual concert. With covers that have over 1 million views on Youtube, Harpsona will be sharing with us her video game music arrangements on her harp. July Summer Programs For Teens July Project Teen Lounge programs are now open for Registration! July programs include creative writing, embroidered canvas line art, juggling, trivia, and more. All programs are open to teens in grades 6-12; pre-registration is required. Programs are funded in part by a grant from the California State Library.

Free Access to the New York Times The California State Library is hosting free online subscriptions to the New York Times for California libraries. After creating an account, you will unlock all regular newspaper content, all multimedia, and Spanish and Mandarin Chinese versions of the paper.

Attention English Language Learners! Want to practice your English conversation skills in a safe, online space with other English language learners? Come join us on Zoom each month for our ESL Conversation Clubs. Everyone is welcome to attend and we welcome all learners of all skill levels. The Conversation Clubs are free and registration is required. Registration is required for this virtual event.
