Santa Maria and Branch Libraries Closed,
Patrons may use online services
Effective Tuesday, March 17, the City of Santa Maria Public Library (main and four branches) closed to protect public health and comply with public health requirements about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Closure signs have been posted at each Library facility, notifying the public of these closures.
Effective Wednesday, March 18, Black Gold hold functions were turned off until further notice and all holds are frozen until Libraries reopen. The Library will continue to distribute holds from all locations through Saturday, March 21 and book drops will remain open to return items - which are being sanitized. The public can still get reference help by calling the main Library: (805) 925-0994 extension 8563 for account services, 8562 for adult services, or 8564 for youth services between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Item due dates have all been extended to May 15 and patrons who come in to pick up items now at any locations, will automatically have the due date extended. No overdue fees will be assessed or charged during the Library closure.
