Diverse Voices Book Club (VIRTUAL)Thursday, April 22 at 7pm | ONLINE via ZoomOFL has launched a new book club, bringing together readers interested in discovering and discussing diverse literature. New titles each month will feature authors writing from their personal experiences in a marginalized group and encourage readers to gain a better understanding of the world around them. New members welcome each month. No obligation - participants may join in or opt out of any club meeting and discussions. This month's selection: His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie His Only Wife is a witty, smart, and moving debut novel about a brave young woman traversing the minefield of modern life with its taboos and injustices, living in a world of men who want their wives to be beautiful, to be good cooks and mothers, to be women who respect their husbands and grant them forbearance. And in Afi, Peace Medie has created a delightfully spunky and relatable heroine who just may break all the rules. eBook and eAudiobook available on Hoopla Good News! Starting in May, this club will be meeting in person in the library's garden (weather permitting!)
