The Carson City Library will be closed on Friday, October 30 in observation of Nevada Day.

According to the Governor's directive, face coverings are now required in public spaces in Nevada. Help the library stay open during the pandemic by wearing a mask or other face covering when you visit! Open Hours: 1-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Computers: Stand-up express computer stations are now available on the first floor. Usage is limited to 30 minute sessions. At this time seating and the @Two computer lab are not available - thank you for your patience as we make an effort to reopen safely!

Virtual Spooky Science with a Mad ScientistTuesday, October 27, 6:00 PM ZoomFor all ages: Be chilled and thrilled with a Mad Science Halloween show...virtually (via Zoom)! Witness a devilish flame and spooky air pressure demonstrations that make even the scariest goblins say, "Oh my!". Also participate in live experiments during the show! Registration is required. Supplies Needed: - Bernoulli's Principle: blow dryer and ping pong ball (or any ball similar in weight to a ping pong ball)
- Ghost Bubbles: 1c. dish soap, 1/2c. corn syrup (plus a little extra!), and 1/4c. water
- Skittles Art: bag of Skittles, paper plate (the kind with a waxy coating and a lip at the top to hold water), and warm water
