Beginning Monday, January 2nd the Hauppauge Library will be distributing hearts for patrons to take home and decorate. The decorated hearts will be donated to children in the pediatric wing of various hospitals this Valentine’s Day. Please return your decorated heart to the Library by Tuesday, January 31st to be sure it arrives at the hospital in time for Valentine’s Day! Thanks!

CHILDREN: MAKE FRIENDS WITH BOOKS Ages Birth up to Grade 5 Monday, December 26 – Saturday, February 25 Sign up Saturday, December 3 and start reporting on Monday, December 26. Keep track of the books you read on your reading chart. Each week you can select a prize from our treasure chest. The reading club runs through Saturday, February 25. Join us for an ice cream party on Saturday, February 25 at 2:00pm for anyone who participated in the reading club.

Bring a photo ID, social security card or 1099-SSA tax document (for each person on tax return), and a copy of your 2015 taxes to your appointment. It is imperative that taxpayers bring their 2015 tax returns with them (Federal & NYS) along with their 2016 documents, since a new software program for tax preparation will be used by the tax preparers this year and they do not have previous tax information. Come in or call the library to register.
