Discover Natural Transylvania Living with Foxes & Coyotes Thursday, November 7 @ 6:30 pm Rogow Room Presentation by Ashley Hobbs, NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Learn about North Carolina's fox and coyote populations and their natural histories, as well as how to co-exist with them.

Paws & Pages Wednesday, November 6th 4:00 - 5:00 pm On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month children can drop in to the Youth Services area and read aloud to a furry pal! Benefits of reading with a dog: Non-judgmental audience Relaxing, low pressure setting Positive experience with reading Builds confidence & reading skills The Library uses volunteers and therapy dogs from Wild Dog Training 5 Paws Therapy Group. Library Closed Monday, November 11 - Veteran's Day All county offices will be CLOSED on Monday, November 11th for Veteran's Day. The Library will re-open on Tuesday, November 12th at 9:30 am.

Family Dinner Series at LUNCH Wednesday, November 13 - 11:00 am to 12:30 pm @The Family Place - Rosman Children’s activities will be provided while grown-ups participate in the education session. Bag Lunch Arts EXTRA - Dead Man's Cell Phone, a play by Sarah Ruhl Presented by Lookinglass Playhouse Wednesday, November 13, 12 noon Rogow Room, Transylvania County Library "a beguiling comedy...a poetic fantasy that blends the mundane and the metaphysical...the patently bizarre and the bizarrely moving." Lookinglass Playhouse is an acting company based in Brevard dedicated to performing interesting works both new and old. The members include Andy, Sandi and Mark Thompson, Amy Shute, Nita Porter, Sally Burnett, and founding member, Claudia Carter Covington. The performance will last approximately 75 minutes.

Second Look Films - First Man Thursday, November 14, 12 noon - 2:30 pm Rogow Room Neil Armstrong is the first man to land on the moon during the 1960s space race after suffering personal and professional tragedy. Ryan Reynolds stars in this dramatic account, revealing the humanity of the famous American astronaut as well as his contributions to NASA. Ukulele Circle - Theme "The 80s" Thursday, November 14 @ 6:00 pm Rogow Room A ukulele open music session will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Rogow Room. Beginner instruction from 5:30 – 6:00 will help the complete novice learn the basics to participate in the following music session. This inter-generational program is open to all ages. The recommended minimum age is 7, though we require that anyone under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult.
