The Library District’s COVID-19 Response Update March 16, 2020 | Greetings: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is closed effective Monday, March 16 until further notice. As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, customers, and community partners. This closing is in line with the CDC’s request that all U.S. residents practice social distancing, which is defined as avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining a distance of six feet (or two meters) from others. NO RETURNS PLEASE During this period, library customers are asked to please NOT return your materials to our branches. Just hold on to them for now. You will not be charged late fees. We will also be maintaining the Holds List, and we will pick it up where we left off when the Library District reopens. ONLINE RESOURCES TO THE RESCUE We are committed to maintaining essential library services for our valued customers: - Wi-Fi will be extended into our libraries’ parking lots for customers to use remotely.
- Library cardholders are encouraged to utilize LVCCLD.org to take advantage of our vast collection of digital resources, which are available 24/7.
- These include downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, as well as streaming music, TV shows, databases, and eResources such as Lynda.com, Rosetta Stone, and Socrates, which helps kids in grades K-5 improve their knowledge base outside of school, while having fun playing games. LVCCLD.org also allows library cardholders to manage their accounts remotely, renew books, place holds, and more.
MORE UPDATES TO COME Please stay tuned for updates as they become available. Be sure to visit our website and follow @LVCCLD on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Thank you, Dr. Ronald R. Heezen Executive Director Las Vegas-Clark County Library District |
