The first fifteen lives of Harry August by Claire NorthAn intriguing story about a man who lives, dies, and then relives his life over and over again. This story has a very contemplative tone to it and draws you in with the many lives the main character has lived and the introduction of a whole community of people, who like the main character, continually relive their lives as well. -- Recommended by Ariana

My Vanishing Country : A Memoir by Bakari SellersPrior to reading this book, I had only known Bakari Sellers as a CNN analyst. I didn’t realize that he is one of the youngest state representatives in South Carolina history. This book provided an intimate portrayal of his incredible life; the kind, caring, and driven person he is, and what life is like growing up in the rural south as an African-American. This book is especially important right now, given the state of racer relations, economic inequality, and political divisions in this country. -- Recommended by Judi S.
