How do we address the growing problem of mental illness, and the lack of resources available, in America? Increasing attention on mental illness has brought with it concern about potential threats to security and freedom as well as concerns about people's individual well-being. Discussing this topic will not be easy, but the objective of this discussion is to begin to work through the tension between collective security, a healthy society, and individual freedoms.
