Candidate ForumWednesday, 10/9, 6:30 - 8:00 PM Ballot Initiatives on the November ballot are sometimes a surprise to the voters. Come to this forum to learn about each ballot initiative including a vote for a County Law & Justice Center, and to make the elected positions in Gallatin County nonpartisan, with no party affiliation declared. Representatives from both sides of each initiative will present their issue and take questions.

Exploring the ArtsSaturday, 10/19, 2:00 PM Join cellist Tristan Herdandez, senior division runner up from the 2019 Montana Association of Symphony Orchestras’ Young Artist Competition, as he performs in concert. Exploring the Arts series will start at 2:00 PM, and feature about 45 minutes of music and a short Q & A.

Thursday, 10/16, 3:00 PM Attend this free educational program on bear safety sponsored by the Park County Environmental Council and Save the Yellowstone Grizzly. Vanessa Chavarriaga and David Buth will give a presentation on best practices for living with grizzlies, and special guests will share stories and answer questions about their experiences living in grizzly country.

Wednesday, 10/16 4:00 -6:00 PM Celebrate National Fossil Day with the help of the Museum of the Rockies on Wednesday, October 16 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Library. Lots of hands-on dinosaur and fossil activities and games for budding paleontologists!

Friday, 10/18, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM Kids are invited to create a Calder Stabile (like a mobile, but stable!) on Friday, October 18 with instructors from the Bozeman Art Museum in two free workshops. Kids in grades K-2 can sign up for 10:30-12 and grades 3-5 sign up for 1-2:30pm in the large Community Room. All materials will be provided.

Thursday 10/10, 5:00 -7:00 PM Come test your gaming skillz with our collection of board games, challenge your friends to retro video games, or try your hand at RPGs (role playing games). We provide snacks and games, but feel free to bring your favorite games (or snacks) to share! Grades 6 and up. Meets in the Small Conference Room.

Friday, 10/11, 12:00 PM What challenges and opportunities lie ahead in Montana as we prepare for climate changes? Dr. Cathy Whitlock will discuss the findings of the 2017 Montana Climate Assessment and other reports, and share some of the feedback she's received talking with groups across the state about climate change. Dr. Whitlock looks forward to a lively Q&A as we try to understand this urgent issue and what it means for us and for our children.
