We receive a lot of questions through email and in our Facebook group about what counts and what doesn't for certain categories. We want everyone to be on the same page (haha get it?), so here are some of our most asked questions.A book with a planet in the title: - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
- No, other dwarf planets do NOT count.
- Fictional planets also do not count.
- Neither do exoplanets.
- Seriously, only the eight planets in our solar system and Pluto count.
Read a book in a format you don't normally read: - This does not have to be a format you have never read/listened to before, just one that you do not typically use.
- Yes, plays and scripts count.
- So do interactive books, such as choose your own adventure or pop-up style books.
- Genres do not count. For example, if you normally read mystery and decide to read a Western, that doesn't count.
- Paperback vs. hardcover also does not count.
A book published when the authors was under 35 years old and a book written by an LGBTQIA+ author: - Check author bios on their website, Goodreads, and Wikipedia.
- Facebook and Twitter have also been helpful. Try messaging them, we've gotten responses this way when the answer wasn't easily available anywhere else.
