Everything at Flowood has been business as usual with a few exceptions. We have succeeded in finding our new Youth Services Supervisor. We expect to have the Children's Department fully operational and able to meet the needs of our patrons soon.
The City buffed and shined the floors in the library and the groundskeeper trimmed the bushes in front of the library. The building and property are looking great.

Starting May 1, we will have a new Children's Supervisor! Brenda Martin-Campbell will be transitioning from her role in Circulation to head up Pearl's Children's Department. Her favorite children's book is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. Brenda looks forward to all of the exciting story times and children's programs comin soon to our library! Help us clean out our book sale items in May. May 3rd through the 20th, our Friends of the Pelahatchie Public Library are selling items for $2.00 a bag. Whatever is left will be free the week of May 24th through May 27th. We are trying to move the older items so we can replace them with newer donations, so stop by for some good buys.

May 2nd is Brothers and Sisters Day. We will have a month long contest to find the funniest story submitted to us by our patrons about your siblings. Stop by the Library, bring us your story or write it out here, and at the end of the month, we will announce the winner of a fun prize! All ages are welcome to enter.
We will also have Happy Mother's Day sheets for the kids to fill out and give to their mom's for Mother's Day.

The Loose Knit Group is meeting once again. Are you a master knitter who is looking to pass on your knowledge to a new generation? Are you a beginner who is looking to learn from master knitters? Come by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. All experience levels are welcome as we work on our own projects.

Sandhill Library has many new books coming in this month. Come in and check out The Backyard Homesteader just in time for gardening season. Some of my patrons have already gotten started on their family garden. Sandhill Library's hours will not change.
