The building may not be open, but there is still a lot going on at the library. The photo below shows a puppet theatre you and your family can make together. Mary Jo Maichack, Professional Singer and Storyteller, shows you how to make your own puppet theatre to play with over and over. She prepared a theatre kit you can pick up at the library. It comes with all of the materials to build your theatre, print instructions and where to find a video (if you prefer) to guide you. Kits are available Tuesday, April 20 through Tuesday, May 4 on a first-come, first serve basis and for as long as supplies last. The video link is available here, but the password you need is included in the kit. This program is supported in part, by the Dighton Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. And a quick update - John Root is back with an Edible Perennial for Landscaping and Gardening virtual program. Save the date - May 24 at 6:30. Our Southcoast Six Libraries are busy!

Libraries Transforming Communities Grant We are excited to announce that we are one of 317 libraries to receive funding through this grant sponsored by the American Library Association. Funding will enable libraries to lead community engagement efforts in small and rural communities on topics like the COVID pandemic, mental health, public land use, the climate crisis and Black history. Grant funds may be used to cover a range of expenses, including staff time and collections and technology purchases. More information to come on Dighton's community conversations!
