Library Pajama Day & Drive Tuesday, February 4 We're wearing our pajamas to work on Tuesday, February 4 to encourage donations of NEW pajamas to the Annual Boston Bruins/Cradles to Crayons Pajama Drive. Your donations will benefit local youth in Southeastern MA. YOU can help a child stay warm this winter by donating a pair of NEW pajamas in any size for children or teens at the APL’s collection box located in the lobby of the library through March 15.

Dr. Rachel Geller, Cat Behaviorist Saturday, February 22 at 2pm Join us for a free event with Dr. Rachel Geller, cat behaviorist, pet chaplain, and human education specialist for a talk about her book, SAVING THE WORLD, ONE CAT AT A TIME. Dr. Geller will give advice for developing and maintaining cat and owner harmony, answer audience questions, and sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase at the event. Getting Wind and Solar Energy from Far Away to Power our Electric SystemWednesday, February 26 at 7pmMany people would like the US electrical system to be powered by renewable sources of energy such as wind and solar. Unfortunately, the biggest sources are far from the areas that need them the most. Join us for a presentation and conversation about needed changes to the electrical grid so that it can transport electricity from solar in the Southwest and wind in the Great Plains to the coast. Ecotarium, Museum of Science and NatureThe EcoTarium in Worcester, Massachusetts offers an indoor-outdoor experience to visitors of all ages. Guests are encouraged to explore three floors of indoor interactive exhibits, live animal habitats, exciting shows in the digital planetarium, daily Science Discovery programs, hikes through forest and meadow nature trails, outdoor imaginative play, and a seasonal train ride around the 45+ acre campus. The library pass, sponsored by the Friends of Attleboro Public Library, gives you half off admission for 2 adults and 2 children. It does not discount planetarium or train tickets.

WiFi Hotspots - More are coming!The WiFi hotspots have been so popular we've ordered more. In addition to the four hotspots we're currently lending on a first come, first serve basis, six more will soon be available that can be reserved for a specific two week period - similar to museum passes. There will also be two hotspots available for use in the building. We hope to have them available by mid-February.

Changes for 2020We’ve been overwhelmed with the outpouring of generous donations to our Friends’ Book Sale. Due to limited volunteer sorting time and space, in 2020 we’ll be accepting up to 2 shopping bags or an equivalent size box per drop-off. Please share only your best quality used books, dvds, blu-rays, puzzles and video games. Our book sale volunteers thank you! Items we do not accept can be brought to the Discover Book bin at the Attleboro Recycling Center at 29 Pond St North. Hours are Tuesday/Thursday 12:30-3:30 and Friday/Saturday 9am-1pm.
