Asian/Pacific American HeritageMay is Asian/Pacific American Heritage month, a chance to celebrate Asian and Pacific Islanders in the United States. According to AsianPacificHeritage.gov, “Asian Americans and Pacific Islander have a rich heritage thousands of years old and have both shaped the history of the United States.” Congress chose the month of May to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843 as well as to mark the completion of the transcontinental railroad. For more information on Asian/Pacific American Heritage month and for a rich resource of historical documents visit AsianPacificHeritage.gov.

What's my PIN number? The most frequently asked question right now is about PIN numbers. You need your PIN number to sign into the catalog, Libby, Overdrive, and other online resources. When you got your library card, you were assigned a PIN that is the last 4 digits of the phone number you provided. The PIN does not automatically update when you change phone numbers, so sometimes your PIN is the last 4 digits of an old phone number. Questions? Email apl-ref@sailsinc.org.
