Politics as (Un)Usual Monday, June 24 @ 7pm Massachusetts politics has always been colorful and at times, scandalous. This history has made us what we are. Author Eamon McCarthy Earls, a local town legislator in the MetroWest area, will deliver a lively, entertaining look at our “Colorful Commonwealth,” from colonial times to today. From gerrymandering and “Know Nothing” governors to the “rascal king,” Massachusetts has seen it all. Along the way, one of the nation’s most Republican states became the most Democratic of the 50 states. Eamon’s books have focused on the town of Franklin, the building of the Wachusett Reservoir, the impact of the Cold War, and the hurricanes of the 50s. Now he turns his knowledge of our history and first hand experiences in government to the pressing questions facing the Commonwealth in the 21st century.
