Sons of Norway - Traditional Dala Horses Art Exhibition Fraser Valley Library Until January 16, 2019 The hand carved and painted Dala Horse are a symbol of authentic Swedish handicraft and one of Sweden's most popular souvenirs.The name comes from the home province, Dalarna, in central Sweden. Most popular are the red-orange horses from the little village of Nusnäs near Mora.

Brain Architecture GameWednesday, January 9 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Granby Library Join Grand County Library District and Grand Beginnings for lunch and learning. Together we will build a brain, recognizing the importance of the community in early brain development. This will help us brainstorm ways we can reach out into the community to encourage family friends, neighbors, and extended family who provide care for our children under 6 to join our Growing Readers Together Story Time. Career Transitions Thursdays, January 17, 24, 31. 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Fraser Valley Library (Urban Community Meeting Room) Presenter: Bob Bowman Bob Bowman, the founder of Encore Careers, has a passion for serving workers in all areas of career transitions. Career Transitions is a three-part course for everyone thinking of transitioning to a new or different job, or looking for the right employment. Class 1: January 17--Determining your Career Direction Identify jobs/careers that will match my skills, passions, and goals. Class 2: January 24--Developing Your Marketing Plan Find out where the jobs are and how to get noticed by employers. Class 3: January 31--Interviewing for Success Resume work, negotiating compensation, and interview skills.

Pam Houston is the author of the memoir, Deep Creek: Finding Hope In The High Country, as well as two novels, Contents May Have Shifted and Sight Hound, two collections of short stories, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat, and a collection of essays, A Little More About Me, all published by W.W.
