Career Transitions Workshops Thursdays, Nov 1, 8, 15 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Granby Library Career Transitions is a three-part course designed to help determine, develop, and interview for a new career direction. Class 1: November 1 Determining your Career Direction Explore ways to identify jobs/ careers that will utilize my skills, passions, and goals. We will look at developing career goals and objectives. Class 2: November 8 Developing Your Marketing Plan Discuss the development of a strategic plan to find out where the jobs are and how to best get noticed by prospective employers. We will also begin to develop a resume and cover letter that will set you apart from other applicants. Class 3: November 15 Interviewing for Success Finish resume work; address negotiating compensation; and discuss as well as practice interview skills. Bob Bowman, founder of Encore Careers, has a passion for serving the mature worker in all areas of career transitions.

Know Before You Go Avalanche Education Wednesday, November 7 5:30 p.m. Fraser Valley Library The Fraser Valley Library is once again hosting “Know Before You Go,” an avalanche awareness program. While the program is geared toward teens, adults and pre-teens are also welcome. We have found that anyone who recreates outdoors in Grand County during the winter season may benefit from this valuable and potentially life-saving information. This year’s program will be hosted by Jamie Wolter through the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. Wolter is a Grand County local and has been an avalanche educator since the early 90s For more information on the KBYG program, you can visit kbyg.org.

Introducing Sophie Read to a Dog Program Wednesday, November 7, 3:45 - 5:00 p.m. Fraser Valley Library Did you know that dogs are the perfect reading companions? They create a relaxed, comfortable and safe environment for sharing books. Read with Sophie a trained therapy dog. All ages are welcome. Children do not have to be reading ready to visit, but should be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive early to select a book, or bring your own, and have fun reading to your new four-legged friend!
