Summer Library Program (SLP): Imagine Your Story
The 2020 Summer Library Program Imagine Your Story started June 20 and will conclude on August 8. Why not sign-up and enjoy a relaxing summer of fun fantasy, fairy tales and mythology based activities? As always, to join us, just think SLP - Sign-up, Log, and Participate! All ages are welcome to take part in this free program. There are many activities which youth (and adults) can do independently, while others can be done with a grown-up or together with family. To sign-up, simply email the library at email@example.com, or give us a call at 508-763-8600. Please include which program you'd like to join (adult/young adult or youth) and a phone number. If signing-up for the youth program, please also include children's ages.
Once signed-up, visit the library website, www.plumblibrary.com, to view program details under our Summer Library Program page. Here you will find links to download program Bingo Cards, Challenge Checklist, Progress Logs and other fun activities. Sometimes additional challenges will be posted our the library Facebook page! Once you have all of your paperwork, start reading, completing challenges and logging your progress until August 8. There will be random prizes awarded throughout the summer for youth who are signed-up and participating in events (See the Events Calendar). By finishing a log and turning it in by August 8, you will be eligible for end of program awards. You will also be helping us reach a goal of 100 completed logs by August 8 which will enter us into the the first ever"First Lady of the Commonwealth and Blades Summer Reading Challenge" drawing for Bruins prizes.
Although we are not yet open to the public and can not offer in-house library programs this summer, your lovely Plumbarians are hard at work filling in the color tile StickTogether mosaic, ordered well before the pandemic! Everytime you let us know you are participating - signing-up, sharing your pictures from events, emailing completed Bingos or guesses about certain events, we add tiles! Check the event calendar for a contest to guess what the mosaic may be! Remember the mosaic will be somehow related to the program themes - fantasy, fairy tales, mythology.
**Contact Ms. Lisa if you can not print our documents from your home. There will be some printed copies available.
This program is free thanks to many state and local sponsors. “Imagine Your Story" is sponsored by the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, with additional support from the Collaborative Summer Library Program the Friends of Plumb Library, the Rochester Cultural Council, Brook Realty, The Rochester Lions Club, several RMS teachers, and many wonderful community volunteers.
