Summer Library Program - August 6 is Last Day to "Read Beyond the Beaten Path"
Plumb Library's Summer Library Program is almost over! The weeks have gone by quickly. Since June 24 with the start of the program, Plumb Library has been hopping with families attending our events and participating in weekly fun activities, as well as sharing their sticker logs and Bingos with Plumb Library Staff. Others are reading at home and plan to complete their logs by Saturday, August 6. So far, we have placed over a thousand color tiles on this year's "StickTogether" mosaic and we are excited to see how it turns out!  Please consider sharing a Plumb Library summer program success story with the MBLC (MA Board of Library Commissioners) at https://success.summerlibraryprograms.com/. This is a new website created to illustrate the value and importance of library summer programs!

The week of August 1 will be the last week for Scrambled Word, Take and Make Crafts, and Outdoor Seek and Find. There will also be  4 more events to attend which require registration.  August events can be seen on Plumb Library's Event Calendar. For events requiring registration, you can check if there are still spaces available. If a spot is not available, you can check back for cancellations!

The last day to turn in your sticker log is Saturday, August 6. We are open from 10-2. Please make sure your full name is on anything you turn in.

Details of Plumb Library's Captain Bonney's Ice Cream Party: All participants who turn in their  Read Beyond the Beaten Path logs by August 6 will be invited to attend the ice cream party at Captain Bonney's (258 New Bedford Rd., Rochester) on Saturday, August 13 from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. Please be ready to confirm your party attendance when you turn in your logs. Attendance numbers need to be provided to Captain Bonney's.  Please call the the library with any questions or email Ms. Lisa (lfuller@sailsinc.org).

Reminder: Only Summer Library Program registrants who completed the logs are eligible for a free ice cream with toppings. Everyone else must purchase ice cream at the window. Thank you!

New this year - The Voci Green Screen Team will be at the party for another photo opportunity.  You will have your choice of backgrounds.  Photos are free and will be emailed to you.

Trail Tale update!
Thanks to a Rochester Cultural Council grant, Plumb Library and the Rochester Land Trust have a new Trail Tale story for each season in 2022!

The summer Trail Tale, One Dog Canoe, which is located at  Doggett's Brook Recreational Area, will be available through August 3.  Please check it out if you haven't already.   Make sure to get to the final page which directs you back to Plumb Library!   If you did this Trail Tale, but never came to the library for the related scavenger hunt, you have until August 3 to do so!

Doggett's Brook is a property of the Rochester Conservation Commission and is accessible through the Dexter Lane ball fields and playground. Behind the playground, look for  a Trail Tale sign at the edge of the woods.
The trail takes you through the woods. Please wear appropriate clothes, footwear and  insect/tick prevention.

We have rescheduled the planned 2nd Summer Trail Tale story, On Duck Pond  by Jane Yolen. This Trail Tale will now be available starting September 18, weather permitting. Trail location TBD.  Stay tuned for more details about this Trail Tale and a fun related event!

This Plumb Library/Rochester Land Trust "Trail Tale" project is supported in part by a grant from the Rochester Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
