    Staff Pick

This month's pick is the last from the wonderful Laura S., one of our most prolific readers, who left the library this month and whose MANY book recommendations will be missed! For our science fiction fans, she suggests The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Described as a "lighthearted space opera," this is the first in a series that currently has three entries. Readers follow a motley and diverse crew on a chaotic, crazy, and often dangerous journey through space. The characters and their relationships are a main focus here, and Laura says she particularly enjoyed the book's "great character development and world building." Fans of the Hitchhiker's Guide or Illuminae Files books or the TV show Firefly should enjoy this one!
